Hi, I recently had a carbon footprint calculated for my 5 surgery dental practice and had an action plan produced to help reduce the amount of CO2 we're responsible for. However, I don't have anything to compare our footprint with, as I don't know any other dental practices that have had a carbon footprint done.
We are responsible for about 54tonnes of CO2 being produced per year from our energy use, waste and employee travel. This will be higher if we factor in how our patients travel to us.
Has anyone else had a carbon footprint completed for their dental practice, or does anyone know of any data on average carbon emissions from dental practices?
Thanks, Katie
Hi Katie
I did some work on this a few years ago and the patient travel added a massive increase!
Hi Amanda and Katie- I'd be keen to chat to you both about this if you would like to connect.
Hi Elinor, happy to chat.
Hi Both, Happy to chat about this, perhaps over a teams/zoom meeting some time? How are we supposed to 'connect'?
I think our patient travel would add 10-12 tonnes more CO2 to our carbon footprint, as a best guestimate.
Thanks
Katie
I'm not sure either as this is a public forum.
okay, well my email is accounts@ivybridgedental.co.uk and I'm happy to be contacted via that to set something up. thanks, Katie
