Refilling TIVA Syringes

We're doing some work that will hopefully support the refilling of TIVA syringes during a single patient's anaesthetic and are distributing this RCoA-approved survey nationally as part of the work. It takes six minutes. We would be very graetful if you would:

a) Complete it yourself and even more importantly

b) Distribute it to as many anaesthetist networks/departments that you have access to

The pilot at our small single hospital trust (Torbay in the SW) showed a 50:50 split in routine syringe refillers. The non-refillers asked for evidence of their peers refilling syringes and for basic studies into the stiction and microbial contamination of refilled syringes to be reassured enough to change their practice. We are hoping that this national survey will provide the former and will support studies of the latter two points. If all non-refillers at our trust were persuaded to become refillers, we estimate we would save the waste of 35,000 50ml syringes
