We are looking to reduce the amount of single use flowtrons we use post op on our ward.
We are looking at reducing the use for our low risk post op ortho patients. Has anyone already done this? Could anyone share any resources or projects please if you have?
Definitely we have an overuse problem where these are applied to most surgical patients, who then take them off as soon as they are returned from theatre to the ward. The clinical (as opposed to in vitro or empiric) literature is sparse at best. Cost is €30 for a pair as opposed to €3 for TEDS.
