Eastern deanery advertising for Sustainability Fellow - closing date 1 March

The Multi-Professional Deanery, part of the East of England Local Education and Training Board (LETB), is seeking to appoint a Sustainability Fellow for a period of 12 months who will be responsible for raising awareness and embedding the necessary skills, knowledge and ways of thinking about how sustainability is part of the training of professionals throughout the system.

The role is open to all professions and will report to the Director of Education and Quality/Postgraduate Dean. The primary aim of the role is to identify and meet the learning needs of educators, trainees and students to improve models of patient care by becoming environmentally aware and competent and to develop a plan to raise the profile of sustainable development within the Multi-Professional Deanery. The role will involve close working with Heads of School, Training Programme Directors, educators, trainers and non-medical professionals with strong links to the NHS Sustainable Development Unit based in Fulbourn, Cambridge along with any other national bodies with an interest in sustainable development.

The Multi-Professional Deanery will provide financial support to the postholder’s employing Trust to enable them to undertake the role full time and priority will be given to applicants wishing to do this. The post will constitute Out of Programme for Experience (OOPE) as defined in the Gold Guide and if you are currently on a training programme, an application for OOPE will need to be made to the Postgraduate Dean.
